Tampa is located on the west coast of Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico, and is home to a metropolition area containg about 3 million people. Tampa vacationa are popular because of the mild weather and large number of activities available in Tampa Bay, especially outdoor activities.
One of my favorite places to go with family is Busch Gardens. The Tampa Busch Garden location has 5 fantastic roller coasters, including the relatively new Shiekra, with has a 90 degree drop of over 100 feet in height. If you’re a roller coaste aficianado, Tampa vacation packages including a Busch Gardens trip would be a good fit for you.
My son and I also enjoy fishing. We usually do pier fishing, or even fish for bass or crappie in the lake behind our house. Being on the Gulf of Mexico, there are hundreds of charter fishing boats ready to take you out to fish for snapper, grouper, game fish or more. Any Tampa vacation package should include a fishing trip.
If fishing isn’t your thing, perhaps just lougning around on the beach reading a book is. One of the most popular beach spots is Honeymoon Island. The nice thing about this beach is that they have a snack bar on site. The kids always enjoy an ice cream or hamburger whenever we go there. There’s also a ferry out to Caladisi Island, another popular spot to spend the day. Tampa vacation packages wouldn’t be complete without time carved out to spend at the beach soacking up the Florida sun.
Downtown Tampa houses the Florida Aquarium, which is a very popular spot. It’s a large aquarium with hundred of exhibits. You can easily spend the whole day there. At their coral reef exhibit, you can see sharks, manta rays, even moray eels!
And you might not know it, but there’s a Hardrock Hotel and Casino within 30 minutes. If you’re a poker player, or want to try your hand at blackjack or slots, your Tampa vacation package definitely needs to include a trip to the casino. You don’t even have to gamble. The hotel there is top notch, they have shows, and a fantastic pool just to relax next too.
All in all, Tampa is a great palce to visit and a great palce to have a good time without having to spend a ton of money. From golf, to theme parks, to its close proximity to Disney, a Tampa Bay vacation has all the ingredients for a fantastic time.
